Understanding Examsoft and Examplify
Examsoft is the assessment platform used to deliver and manage many of your medical school examinations. Examplify is the application installed on your computer (or SOM provided computers) that allows you to download, complete and submit those examinations.
You can sign into Examsoft to view previous assessment results.
The goal of Examplify is to provide a reliable and secure testing environment while allowing exams to be completed electronically.
Examsoft vs. Examplify
Although the names are often used interchangeably, they serve different purposes.
Examsoft: The overall assessment platform. It manages your account, assigned exams, exam results and other assessment information.
Examplify: The application installed on your Windows or Mac computer that you use to actually take an exam.
What information Does Examsoft Track?
Examsoft records information necessary to deliver, secure and troubleshoot examinations.
Depending on the exam and configuration, information may include:
Exam Activity
- Your answers and responses
- When an exam was downloaded
- When the exam was started
- Exam activity and engagement information
- When the exam was completed
- When the exam file was uploaded
Account Information
- Your name
- Student or registration ID
- University email address
- Information assocaited with your Examsoft account
Device and Technical Information
- Device identification information
- IP address
- Computer make and model
- Operating system and version
- Examplify/software version
- Login timestamps
- Exam download and upload timestamps
- Technical information used for troubleshooting and exam security
