Joana Venegas is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) dedicated to supporting individuals through life's challenges and transitions. After earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology, Joana completed her master’s in clinical mental health counseling at The University of Texas at Tyler. She specializes in creating a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered, working with children and adolescents facing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life changes.

Joana’s experience includes an internship at the Smith County probation office, where she provided counseling support to adults and collaborated with probation officers to promote stability and accountability. Additionally, she possesses specialized training in play therapy, utilizing creative, developmentally appropriate techniques to help children express their emotions, process experiences, and develop coping skills in a supportive environment.

Joana is a dedicated member of the TCHATT - Northeast Texas team, passionately committed to serving students. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring new places, and creating meaningful memories with loved ones. Her unwavering commitment to personalized and compassionate care motivates her to support her clients' growth and resilience.
