Stephanie has been a dedicated member of the TCHATT - Northeast Texas team since 2021. She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in special education and subsequently taught in East Texas public schools for six years. After this experience, she shifted her professional focus to social services, where she has worked in various community programs aimed at serving marginalized individuals across the lifespan, from infancy to end of life. Committed to building a healthier and more equitable community, she furthered her education at East Texas A&M University, where she earned her social work license in 2024.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has gained extensive experience in areas such as intellectual and developmental disability, pregnancy and parenting, family systems, poverty, and mental health. She is passionate about increasing access to affordable, high-quality mental health care for East Texas residents, and she is excited that TCHATT shares this mission. In therapy sessions, Stephanie especially enjoys implementing expressive art techniques including visual art, music, play, storytelling, and poetry. She finds that these tools help create an inclusive therapeutic experience that provides opportunities for clients to share their story through non-verbal means, rescript personal narratives, and recover a sense of self-efficacy.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her family, creating art, hiking, and engaging in meaningful conversations over a cup of coffee.
